Sustainability and Inclusiveness
We are committed to shape a better future by supporting individuals through our solidarity fund and minimising our ecological impact. In collaboration with our stakeholders, we provide financial aid for children's education and strive to employ innovative sustainable practices in our operations.
Sukpak Solidarity Fund
The 100,000 empty bulk sugar bags we produce annually are sold to companies to store frozen fish and collect poultry waste. The revenue from these sales helps to fund:
- Educational materials for our employees’ children and their tuition fees
- Infant formula for our employees’ newborns
- Donations to charities
- Meals for the homeless

EducHelp
Through Sukpak, which undertakes the packaging of unrefined special sugars for international brands, Velogic provides financial support to its employees of less privileged backgrounds so that their children may one day pursue the career of their dreams and fulfill their goals. Afzal Jumeer, one of the beneficiaries shares more insights on this initiative.
Environmental Projects
At Sukpak, we are walking the talk by making circular economy a reality. We are fostering the emergence of circular ecosystems by implementing efficient waste management practices and reducing wastes in our processes.
Sukpak has shifted towards “Zero-Wastes to landfills” through the following initiatives:
- Reusable Pallet Wrap: A sustainable approach for packaging: We have replaced single-use plastic packaging films by Plastic Eco-Friendly pallet wrappers, which have helped us to reduce our carbon footprint by 30 tonnes.
- Sugar waste as a source of food for honey bees : The sugar wastes from split bags and fell-offs during the packaging process are collected and sent to 11 local beekeepers.
- A second life to plastic straps : Our plastic straps wastes are upcycled into woven baskets through the collaboration with Global Rainbow Foundation. 10 persons with different disabilities are fully involved in the making of these woven baskets.
- Other plastic wastes are recycled into plastic pallets and other outdoor furniture by a local recycler Surfrider.
